SPACE RACE Series

A series of six charcoal on paper drawings utilising the silver birch tree, smoke and moon to convey issues relating to the Space Race.  Marking the 40th Anniversary of the Moon Landing in 1969 -  silver birch trees yearn for the moon they endeavour to 'lift off', some come crashing down to Earth, resulting in fall out...there is also an ecological aspect, whilst humankind rallies toward ever greater technological advancement, the cost to the planet is devastating.
